Donate your purses & jewelry for Another Woman's Treasure!
On April 3 and 4, 2020, we will celebrate the 6th anniversary of Another Woman's Treasure and we want it to be the best sale ever!
We are taking purse & jewelry donations all year. Drop them off at Bon Air United Methodist church (look for the round bins) and Papeterie, 3048 Stony Point Road (Stony Point Shopping Center, near Southbound restaurant & Good Foods Grocery) and Quilting Adventures (6943 Lakeside Avenue, Henrico). Also the Shops at 5807 (5807 Patterson Ave.) and Escada Salon (11517 Busy Street)
And of course, mark your calendar for two great days of shopping on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4 2020.
Send a Birthday Card
In October, we will celebrate the 2-year anniversary of our legendary "Birthday Card Brigade." Let our students know that you care about them and are wishing them success and happiness. One card is powerful -- imagine a huge pile of cards and what that message sends to a student! Read more here about this very fun program that anyone can participate in.
Instead of Amazon.com, log in to AmazonSmile & the Amazon Smile Foundation will donate a % of your purchases to us at no cost to you!

Bake Cookies for our Cookie Walk!
Our annual Christmas Cookie Walk is our fun and simple way to raise money for Change the World RVA during the season of giving (and cookie eating!). We need 50 people to bake 5 dozen cookies each! Sign up here! And be sure to come to Bon Air United Methodist Church (1645 Buford) on Sunday, December 3 2017 (9-11:30 am) to make your donation (recommended $15), get your empty box, and walk along the tables filled with cookies, filling your box along the way.
If your church or organization would like to host its own cookie walk for our students, we have the experience and know-how to help you make your event a success! Click here for more information.
Change the world.
We ask volunteers -- individuals & groups -- to cook dinner for our afterschool program. A casserole, a salad, some bread & dessert -- perfect! This fall, we will open our classroom, lounge, and food pantry on Mondays from 3 - 9 pm; dinner will be served at 5:30 or so. If you would like to cook, serve & join us for dinner, we would love that! For more info and to sign up, click here.
Become a Host Family
Our most successful students are typically those who have an opportunity to live with a host family. The secure foundation, love and support are sometimes all a young person needs to soar beyond their wildest dreams. We also need housing for our college students during their school breaks, a great way to dip your toe in the water! If you woud like to have a conversation to learn more, please email Natalie to set up a time to chat. Or sign up for our Host Home Training Workshop on September 15, 2018. (P.S. this is how we change the world!)
Invite Us to Speak
We love to share our story! Invite us to speak to your group -- large or small. When possible, we try to bring a student with us so you can hear about our work from the people who matter most. Contact us about a speaker.
Make a Financial Contribution
We're all about the love, but the money enables us to provide quality programs and to help our students in meaningful ways. Your financial contributions help us do all kinds of things -- from stocking the "Happy Dance Basket" (pictured above) to helping with emergency housing. We are a 501(c)3, and your donation is tax deductible. Learn more about ways to donate here.
Give a Kid a Lift
We always say, "The magic happens in the car." If you've ever raised a teenager, you know that sometimes the best opportunity for good conversation is in the car. Our volunteers give students an occasional ride to a doctor's appointment, the dentist, a job interview, or to work and school. It's a terrific opportunity to get to know a student and to share your wisdom, kindness, and encouragement with them. We teach our kids that this is a great chance for them to grow their network of caring adults -- it's great fun for everyone and it really makes a huge difference to students who have limited transportation resources. We require background checks (we provide), the names of two references, and a face-to-face interview for each driver. To learn more, click here.
